Answer. It is imperative that you experience the ‘feel’ of different massage techniques. This is the only way you can learn what feels good and what doesn’t. Therefore all students will work on each other in the classroom and change partners throughout the course. This ensures that you learn to feel for tight or knotted muscles and massage them appropriately, and feel the effects different pressure has during a massage whilst you are being worked on. This system has proven to work extremely well over the years enabling the school to produce excellent students. Q2. Will I be given handouts of the massage sequences? Answer. All the courses are accompanied with handouts with both pictorial and written sequences. The Indian Head Massage Sequence is also available on DVD, to enable you to refresh your memory when at home. This can be purchased on the day for only £10.00. The New Foot Reflex-Massage course is accompanied with a detailed Workbook. Q3. How will I know where to buy equipment or get business cards printed etc. when I finish the course? Answer. All students are given information about suppliers and how to set up a business at the end of the courses and Andrea will always return your calls or emails within 24hrs if you think of any questions after the course. This is guaranteed! Andrea will also answer any queries from students, months, even years down the line! Q4. Will I learn how to blend oils and make my own on the Aromatic Swedish Massage Course? Answer. You will be using lovely pre-blended oils which are ready to use. You can use them on clients too which is not possible on other courses. These blends have been made up by a licensed aromatherapy supplier. You will not be taught how to mix your own blends as it is not possible to impart this skill in only two days. Students who are pregnant, epileptic, asthmatic or have any medical condition that is contraindicated with Aromatherapy Oils, will not, I’m afraid, be able to use our aromatherapy oils, but can use plain carrier oils which are unscented. Q5. I’ve had massages before that were very gentle and didn’t really do anything. Will you be teaching that kind of massage? Answer. Definitely not! You will learn how to give a quality massage with the appropriate pressure to achieve the result required. So, if your client prefers a firm pressure, you will be able to perform the treatment suitable for that client. No ‘fluffy’ massage techniques are taught! Q6. I am a member of an association not listed by you. Will I still be able to get insurance and achieve CPD points? Answer. It is impossible to seek accreditation by all associations as there are so many. Some associations ask for vast amounts of money to validate courses (four figure sums!), which also makes it very difficult for smaller schools and hence why they tend to validate very few courses. Over the years, I have worked very closely with my accreditating associations, CThA, The Guild etc, and value their professionalism and input. I believe they are the very best associations out there and offer an excellent service to their members. Some are also non-profit making which is quite rare. If you would like to do our courses, just contact your association directly and check they will cover our courses. If not, then you can always get independent insurance, (we can give you details), or change your membership over when it is due for renewal. Where can I park? Answer. The venue is easy to get to on the edge Chelmsford town centre. There is plenty of free parking for all students on site. Q1. Do I need to supply my own model or do you supply someone for me to work on in the classroom?
